At the R.L.Winston Rod Co., they've been making fine rods for a very long
time, over 75 years.
If those 75 years have taught them anything, it's who best appreciates
their rods. Invariably, they are more experienced anglers; anglers who enjoy a
rod that can make smooth casts and delicate fly presentations. A rod they
can trust.
Here,
we've given you an overview of what goes into the making of Winston's graphite
rods, as well as the design characteristics of the entire Winston line.
Winston
rods are made by hand, by people whose lives revolve around fly fishing.
The goal is simple: perfection.

Winstons lightweight double-foot snake guides
are sized proportionately for each rod. This allows proper line control
which, in turn, lets the rod load properly and shoot line smoothly.
Our stripping guides are made from a hard-chrome frame, with an inner
ceramic ring for durability and minimal friction.
"The Winston moto: We refuse to compromise at Winston. That's
why our rods are such a delight to cast, why our rods present flies
perfectly at the distances they were designed to be fished, and why our
rods are so beautiful. We have no interest in being second best.."
- David Ondaatje
President, R.L. Winston Rod Co.

The internal spigot ferrule system on Winstons LT rods allows the taper
and internal diameter of one section of the rod to exactly match those of
the adjoining section.
All the rest of the rods use a sleeve ferrule system perfected with time.
